Chongqing- While attaching equal importance to epidemic control and production, Chongqing has coordinated the work resumption of industrial chain with emphasis on leading enterprises, thus realizing the orderly resumption of industrial enterprises. On February 25, according to Chongqing Economy and Informatization Commission, as of February 24, 10,812 industrial enterprises in Chongqing had resumed work, with 739,000 employees, including 4,859 industrial enterprises above designated size with 613,000 employees.

Chen Jinshan, Director of the Chongqing Economy and Informatization Commission, said that a special group for the coordinated resumption of industrial chain for Chongqing's leading and key enterprises had been set up. With the concerted efforts of relevant departments, districts, counties, and enterprises, efforts have been made to coordinate and advance the resumption of upstream and downstream of industrial chain, to accelerate and expand the resumption.

Just a few days ago, for example, Chongqing Iron & Steel Group was nearly cut off from coal supply because many upstream coal mines had not resumed work due to the outbreak of COVID-19. At its worst, coal stocks would run out in two days. After learning of this situation, the Commission, together with districts and counties, promptly helped the supporting enterprises improve the epidemic prevention and control measures, and resume production in the afternoon that day. With these efforts, the newly-mined coals were shipped to the pier of Chongqing Iron & Steel Group in the early morning of the next day. Through multilateral coordination, the upstream raw material supply companies of Chongqing Iron & Steel Group have resumed production successively, providing more than 5,000 tons of coal every day, which can fully meet the normal production demand of the company. The sales channel is as important raw material for steel production. Yineng Smart manufacturing, which is 10 kilometers away from Chongqing Iron & Steel Group, is one of its downstream companies, which purchases nearly 10,000 tons of steel every month. With the assistance of the government, Yineng Smart manufacturing has resumed production ahead of schedule. The company's resumption of production has given great confidence to downstream users and critical projects, allowing them to resume work normally and form a complete industrial chain.

As of now, 93 of the 100 leading enterprises have resumed work, with a resumption rate of 60.8% for 600 supporting enterprises. Chongqing's industrial bellwethers that have resumed production involve complete vehicle enterprises such as Changan Automobile and Changan Ford, electronics enterprises such as Wistron, Yibao, and Inventec, strategic emerging industry enterprises such as BOE and HKC, and equipment manufacturing and big data enterprises such as Cummins, SWA and CloudWalk.

Chen Jinshan said that Chongqing would comprehensively promote the resumption of work and production in the next step. Based on emphasizing the resumption of critical enterprises in the early stage, it will boost the full resumption of large, medium and small-sized enterprises, and enable industrial enterprises of designated size to realize full resumption by the end of the month.
