Living with COVID⑩ Xiaochuan Chen: Complacency is running high in Vancouver

Chongqing - While the COVID-19 crisis is now under control in China, it has continued to spread quickly worldwide. Therefore, we have extended our reach to learn how overseas Chinese, especially those with connections to Chongqing, are dealing with the situation.

Mr. Xiaochuan Chen lives in Vancouver, Canada, where he is the chief technology officer of Welinkirt Technology. Today, he joined iChongqing to discuss the spread of COVID-19 in Vancouver. In particular, we looked at how seriously local people and the government are treating the potential epidemic. Also, we talk about the lessons people can take from China's recent experience during the outbreak.

Since the interview, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced school closures, travel restrictions and suggested 14-day self-isolation after returning from any affected countries, and a moratorium on cruise ships landing anywhere in Canada until July 1st in recognition of the emerging threat posed by COVID-19.
