Recently, according to the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau that Chongqing will further cooperation with Sichuan Province in scientific and technological innovation. They will, in accordance with the general requirements for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, jointly formulate an action plan on the improvement of collaborative innovation and development capacity and strive for more national scientific and technological resources getting in place in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. 

Sichuan and Chongqing will jointly build a scientific and technological innovation center with national influence focusing on the complementation of functions of high-tech industries, the interconnection of facilities and platforms, exchange of talents and technologies and mutual benefits of policies and systems, thereby further enhancing the strategic position of the Chengdu-Chongqing region in national scientific and technological innovation.

"The construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle is a great benefit to the development of both Sichuan and Chongqing. It is of milestone significance to the full utilization of advantages of scientific and technological innovation resources in the Chengdu-Chongqing region and deep implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy to achieve an important growth pole for high-quality development in west China," said the relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, adding that, to build a scientific and technological innovation center with national influence in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, they will focus on collaborative innovation and development and also take it as one of the essential characteristics of their efforts for the construction.

They will gather and make good use of scientific and technological innovation resources and effectively implement regional collaborative innovation through sharing, co-building, and joint promotion so that major national policies and projects can be deployed in the Chengdu-Chongqing region and they can together serve the strategic layout of the country's regional development.

For this purpose, the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau and Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province will deepen their cooperation to speed up the construction of the regional collaborative innovation system and enhance the collaborative innovation and development capacity of the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
