According to Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone on April 3, the construction of Chongqing Science City will accelerate this year. Launch extensive infrastructure construction

This year, Chongqing Science City is going to launch extensive infrastructure construction and make plans for a number of major projects.

The science city plans to vigorously promote the construction of traditional infrastructures such as tracks and tunnels.

Besides, this year will see the completion of the four-kilometer-long first vertical line of Expressway (the section from Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone to Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway). After completion, it will play a much greater role as a hub.

In addition, Chongqing Science City is also slated to start construction of key infrastructure projects such as high-speed rail hubs, the network of expressways, the rail transit network, tunnels and bridges, as well as water, electricity and gas support facilities in an orderly manner. Meanwhile, it will speed up the construction of new infrastructure in such domains as 5G, industrial Internet, and big data.

Build a batch of innovation centers for sci-tech R&D

This year, based on the national strategic layout, Chongqing Science City is going to build a number of innovation centers for sci-tech research and development at a high level, support the construction of basic research platforms in colleges and universities and gather their research platforms in the science city.

The science city will also support research institutes in building applied research platforms and promoting the transformation of their achievements, and assist enterprises with the construction of development and research platforms. It plans to incorporate platform construction and R&D investment into the enterprise evaluation system to encourage enterprises to put more effort into R&D.

What’s more, Chongqing Science City will focus on digital economy and artificial intelligence and accelerate the construction of national incubators and maker spaces equipped with incubation spaces, technical platforms, industrial resources, supporting funds, and professional services, thus gathering the headquarters of a number of new high-tech enterprises.

Promote ten-billion-level high-tech industrial projects

Chongqing Science City is scheduled to promote ten-billion-level high-tech industrial projects and facilitate deep integration and high-quality development of big data and the big health industry. It will strengthen the effective supply, improve the environment for development, and attract high-end talent, innovative entrepreneurs, and highly skilled people to innovate and start their businesses there.

Furthermore, Chongqing Science City plans to highlight the joint construction and sharing of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with overseas high-tech parks and domestic advanced high-tech zones and science cities. Relying on existing projects, it will expand areas of cooperation and build parks for international cooperation. It will also speed up the construction of international schools, international hospitals, and international communities, so as to improve its international image.

Moreover, Chongqing Science City is going to strengthen cooperation with Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Chengdu Science City and other carriers of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, increase integration and linkage with such projects as China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity and Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe Railway, and build major channels and platforms for opening-up. It plans to make good use of universities’ outward platforms and build a university city with international cooperation demonstration effect based on education, scientific research, talent exchange, etc.
