In the early morning of April 8, Wuhan ushered in a restart and officially lifted the control for the passage leaving Hubei and Wuhan after the 76-day lockdown. There were 15 trains leaving Wuhan for Chongqing on the same day.

According to Hubei Provincial COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, Wuhan would lift the control for the passage leaving Wuhan to resume traffic in an orderly manner starting from 0:00. People can leave Wuhan safely and in an orderly manner with a green Hubei health code.
To this end, Wuchang, Wuhan and Hankou Railway Stations in Wuhan would reopen the entrance channels to resume the passenger service. Passengers holding the green code could travel by road after taking temperature measurement and identity verification.
There are 15 trains arriving at Chongqing Railway Station (one of the four major passenger stations in the main urban area) from stations in Wuhan where the departure services have resumed. Among them, the first train to arrive was Z3, which departed from Beijing West and arrived at Chongqing via Hankou. It is scheduled to arrive at Chongqing Bei (North) Railway Station at 11: 56.

Chongqing Railway Station inspected and checked the personnel returning from Wuhan at the entrance and exit of the station, including body temperature check-up, health certificate verification, and information registration.
The personnel returning to Chongqing from Wuhan area shall be treated differently in the following three categories:
Category 1: Those with normal body temperature and health certificates shall be released without isolation.
Category 2: Those with normal body temperature but no health certificate shall be arranged to the normal observation area, and be taken over on-site by the responsible persons in their current residential districts/counties.
Category 3: Those with abnormal body temperature shall be sent to the abnormal observation area. The district/county where the detection point is located shall arrange special personnel and vehicles to transfer them to the fever clinic of the nearest hospital for examination.
