Chongqing- In March 2020, iChongqing conducted an exclusive exploration in Sino-Swiss Techno Park(SSTP) in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing. Mr. Ma Xiuyong, General Manager of Investment Promotion and Operation of SSTP, talked about the initial plan of this park and its resumption of work under the COVID-19 epidemic situation during the interview.
“The positioning of the entire industrial park is to build a model park for international cooperation. Through investment cooperation with Swiss-based or overseas companies, their technology will be introduced to China”, according to Mr. Ma.
The Sino-Swiss Business Incubation Competition(SSBIC) started in 2018. The first session was in cooperation with the Zurich government in Switzerland. In the first session, participated companies would come to Chongqing to participate in the finals during Smart China Expo. 2019, SSBIC has held its 2nd session, the influence has been expanded. The number and quality of participating projects have been greatly improved, and the scope of project collection has been expanded from a Swiss province to the whole region of Europe. More than 40 projects from 6 countries were registered, and 15 of them finally came to Chongqing to participate in the finals.

Though SSTP started the resumption of work since the last week of Feb. Its promotion task has been greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this difficult time, SSTP has donated medical masks to help fight COVID-19. The whole team of SSTP is truly grateful for all the assistance China received from other countries when they needed most. As an international platform for technology incubation, SSTP has donated 30,000 masks to Italy, France, and Switzerland for their international friends and supports its partners combat the pandemic as of April 1.
