Living with COVID-19⑰ Individual States in Germany Can Decide Whether to Lockdown – Martin Hinkens

Chongqing- As the normality daily life in Chongqing has resumed, our focus has shifted to the spread of COVID19 in countries across the world. In light of this development, we are reaching out to individuals outside of China and sharing information and experience of the outbreak in their specific locations.

Martin Hinkens has lived most of the past six years in Chongqing, where he runs his own restaurant chain that serves German-style cuisine. When the outbreak began in China, he returned home with his family to a German town outside of Aachen near the border with Holland.

Currently, foreign nationals are unable to enter China until further notice, and many flights are liable for cancellation.

During our interview, we discuss the current situation in Germany, his daily life, and when he hopes to return to Chongqing.
