When fighting against COVID-19, Chongqing received medical supplies worth 30 million yuan from across the world. As the disease is spreading worldwide, Chongqing spared no effort to support foreign partners. It has donated medical supplies and anti-epidemic materials to over 30 countries, sister cities, and organizations in batches.

The city and global countries helped each other to fight against the pandemic, further proving and cementing their friendship.
Chongqing successively received consolation letters and videos from government departments of Japan, South Korea, and other 45 countries, agencies in China, sister cities, non-governmental organizations, heads of enterprises, friends, and the head of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Correspondingly, the city sent letters to 17 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Italy, the United States, and Russia, sister cities, and organizations at all levels to express its sincere concern and willingness to offer help.
During the difficult period to fight against COVID-19, Chongqing received medical supplies and money worth 30 million yuan from 11 countries, which are Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Germany, Belarus, Slovenia, South Africa, Kenya, and Uruguay, agencies in China, sister cities, non-governmental organizations, enterprises, SCO Secretariat and member states, overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao. These donations were precious and significantly helpful for Chongqing to control the spread of the disease.
Since March 11, batches of medical supplies and epidemic prevention materials, which carry the best wishes of Chongqing people, have been delivered to South Korea, Italy, Iran, and other countries heavily hit by COVID-19.
As of now, Chongqing has held five video conferences with Ukraine, Armenia, Hungary, Brazilian Federal District, and Northeast Region of Brazil in succession on epidemic prevention and control. Strongly required by Ukraine, the city hosted two conferences to share all its experiences and measures in this sphere. These countries and sister cities and states, which exchanged experiences with Chongqing, spoke highly of this move. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal extended his sincere gratitude to experts of Chongqing in sharing knowledge on combating epidemic during the video conference. He said such valuable information would assist the country in quickly overcoming COVID-19.
Since the pandemic continues to grow, countries and sister cities and states, such as Belarus and Sacramento, California, USA, have proposed to have video conferences with Chongqing to exchange experience on epidemic prevention and control. Heads of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Chongqing Municipal Health Commission said the city would irregularly hold such conferences with foreign countries to unreservedly share relevant experience, based on China’s unified deployment and changes in the pandemic.
