The software center is the first independent software company set up by a large state-owned automobile enterprise. As the core of the strategic plan of "Beidou Tianshu" for Chang'an Auto's intelligent transformation, the center is committed to building the most significant software technology and mobile intelligent platform in China, leading in the world, autonomous, safe, and controllable, and building the "5+1+5+1" intelligent software capability.

As the core support of the intelligence of Chang'an, the software center will focus on the research and development of software such as intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, intelligent vehicle control, intelligent auto cloud service, etc., committed to revolutionizing the user experience, creating a comfortable driving environment, and realizing the sound interconnection of people, vehicles, and life, noted Li Wei, executive vice-president of Chang'an Automobile.

Reportedly, the software center will lead in a 1,000-person high-end research and development team, expecting an estimated cumulative revenue of over 3.5 billion yuan and a cumulative investment of over 3 billion yuan in research and development within ten years. At the end of this year, the center will take the lead in mass production of level 3 (L3) autonomous driving and complete the development and carrying of CAOS, a standardized cockpit operating system of Chang'an. Next year, the center will realize the mass production of service-based intelligent vehicle control software platforms and the development of cloud learning platforms to improve software reuse and reduce development costs. It is expected that by 2025, the center will realize the mass production of level 4 (L4) autonomous driving, making efficiency and software capability its core competitiveness.
