From May 13, the cultural event began to invite international friends to enjoy Chongqing cultural features. Laowai @Chongqing combines the experience of intangible cultural heritage, traditional festivals, and countryside tourism together, inviting international friends, who are working or studying in Chongqing to take part in a series of activities about learning, experience, exhibition, and more. In this way, international friends in Chongqing will adopt life in this city better, make more friends here, and learn more about Chongqing traditional culture.
Chongqing is a city with a profound history and culture of more than 3,000 years, where is the birthplace of Bayu culture. Also, there are lots of intangible cultural heritages in this city. Banan District has promoted cultural exchanges in domestic and abroad recently, with Mauritius, Australia, the United States, and more. Meanwhile, Banan had successfully held Laowai @Chongqing twice, attracting nearly 1,000 international friends from Russia, Kazakhstan, and other countries to participate in. The cultural event had promoted Banan and Chongqing culture to the world, raising the international reputation of the city.
For Laowai @Chongqing this year, it will continue to establish a free learning platform for intangible cultural heritage and invite international friends to learn Chongqing culture, falling in love with this city more deeply. The event started from March to December this year and mainly used online and offline to find students.

Moreover, as a warm-up, the organizer of Laowai @Chongqing has successfully held the activity of Learning How to Make Tea from Me on March 19. International friends, who are living, studying, or working in Chongqing, were invited to visit the Dingxin Tea Garden in Ersheng Town, Banan District to learn tea picking, frying, kneading, boiling, and tasting tea. Through experience and learning Banan tea-making skills, international friends felt the charm of Chinese tea culture in all aspects.
From May 13 until July, the activity Visit Countryside, including experience activities, photography, short video, and travel tips contest, will also be launched. The organizer will invite some international friends to visit Banan Town Street every week for a deep tour.
In addition, foreign friends can record the happy life of learning experiences through articles, images, or videos and share them on personal social media. At the same time, you can also submit your work to participate in the travel contests. According to the organizer, there are three categories of the contest – photography, short video, and travel tips. Besides, there will be one for first prize, two for second prizes, five third prizes, and several outstanding awards.
