On the morning of May 18, when the 44th International Museum Day was celebrated and the 11th Chongqing Cultural Heritage Promotion Month was launched, the “May 18 International Museum Day” China’s main event was held in Nanjing Museum.
In the event, the final evaluation results of the Premium Exhibitions Promotion of China’s Best Museum Exhibitions of 2019 Awards were unveiled. The “Hundred Years of History of Chongqing Industrial Development” Exhibition of Chongqing Industrial Museum made it to the top 10 and won the excellent award. The “Age of Pandas – the Past and Present of Giant Panda” Exhibition of Chongqing Natural History Museum won the winning award.
Since China’s Best Museum Exhibitions was first launched in 1997, 17 consecutive sessions have been hosted, making the event the “Oscar” in the field of Chinese culture and museum.
In the list released today, a total of 29 institutions won: the special award of the “Top Ten Excellent Exhibitions” (3 winners), the excellent award (10 winners), the winning award (12 winners), the international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan cooperation award (2 winners), and the cooperation finalist award (2 winners).
This is also the fifth time Chongqing has won the award.
A total of 29 exhibitions were selected from 114 participating projects for final evaluation. The final evaluation committee, composed of 15 experts, has chosen the “Top Ten Excellent Exhibitions” through real name voting, according to the “Measures for the Promotion of China’s Best Museum Exhibitions”, after reviewing the application materials of the finalists, listening to the project presentation report and exchanging comments.
