Chongqing- Dazu District is an important junction between Chengdu and Chongqing and is also a rising star along with Chongqing-Sichuan Cultural Tourism Corridor. Meanwhile, It connects Eastern Sichuan and Western Chongqing, becoming the famous tourist destination in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. Yu Huiwen, Deputy to the NPC and Secretary of the CPC Dazu District, proposed that Dazu District should develop the brand of Dazu Rock Carvings, therefore, shaping a regional cultural tourism and leisure center there.

At the same time, Dazu should accelerate to build itself into the international cultural tourism city and the international-famous tourist destination, striving to serve  52 million tourists at the end of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, achieving the tourism revenue will reach RMB 30 billion. Moreover, according to Yu, Dazu will strive to be cataloged by textbooks.

The co-development of cultural tourism and the integration of tourism resources are the trends between Sichuan and Chongqing. Dazu cooperated with the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, Wulong, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and other places to shape the core brand. “We had cooperated with other world heritage sites, such as Qingcheng Mountain, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Mount Emei, Leshan Giant Buddha, and more, to established a promotion alliance of cultural tourism,” Yu Huiwen said, “In this way, we can shape a series of tour routes between Sichuan and Chongqing.” Besides, Dazu and Mount Emei co-opened the two-way bus route and launched the personalized group tours of five to ten people in small volumes.
