Chongqing- Chongqing Ethiopian Coffee Week was unveiled on June 8 at PuLuoLi Specialty Coffee Shop at Mountain City Alley, Yuzhong District, to commemorate the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the start of Ethiopia-China formal diplomatic relation. 

Ethiopia and China have been strong allies ever since the two countries established official diplomatic ties back in 1972· Ethiopia esteem its tie with China with an elevated reverence. Today the bilateral relation advanced to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, as the two countries embark on a series of activities to mark the 50th anniversary.

Hand-in-hand, both Ethiopia and China shall achieve through many more initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and work in tandem for the betterment of a shared future for mankind.

With Ethiopian traditional music, the opening ceremony begins. First, Mr. Anteneh Tariku Feleke, the Consul General of Ethiopia in Chongqing address the event. He said this event is in celebration with the 50th anniversary of the official diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and China. He presented his gratitude to the supporters, other hosts and co-hosts and expressed the world-famous premium Ethiopian coffee, such as Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. Later, Mr.Deng Guanghuai, the deputy district governor of Yuzhong District expressed his own ideas on the cooperation between Yuzhong and Ethiopia, he also hopes one day that Yuzhong will be enriched with the aroma of Ethiopian coffee. Last but not least, Mr. Tang wen, the deputy director-general of Chongqing FAO congrats on the event and concluded the cooperation between Chongqing and Ethiopia in coffee industry and express his will of more fruitful cooperation. All the guests toasted with icing drip premium Ethiopian coffee and watched the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony.
