The '2020 Citizens Shoot Chongqing' Photography Event Officially Launches

Chongqing- On June 18th, the themed event 'Citizens Shoot Chongqing' was held in Damotan Wetland Park of Tianma Village, Beibei District Chongqing. Here, the pristine ecology and attractive landscape evoke a picture of harmony between people and nature, and presented a scene that far surpassed the expectations of the participants, many of whom were on their first visit to this stunning location.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, this occasion is regarded as a brand event in Chongqing's photographic industry. The main sponsors are Chongqing Daily News, Chongqing Photographers Association, while co-organizers are the Chongqing Photo-journalism Society, Chongqing University Photographic Association, Chongqing Industry Photography Association, and Visual Chongqing. In all, the event attracted 48 government and amateur photography associations to participate.

The year 2020 is when the goals of achieving a well-off society and a decisive victory against poverty are to be achieved in ChinaFF. Photography enthusiasts captured the wonderful moments they witnessed that display the magnificent progress of this new era where Chongqing has developed into an inland, open, economic high ground endowed with beautiful scenery.

Wu Xianghong, vice chairman of the Beibei District Photographic Association remarked, ‘I used to come here with my classmates when I was at Southwest Agricultural University more than 30 years ago. At that time, ​​Damotian was still wild and desolate, but it has now been completely transformed into a beautiful park for leisure and entertainment. Tourists now come to visit in droves.’

Professional and amateur photographers from 48 government and social organizations attended the Citizens Shoot Chongqing event at Damotian Wetlands Park in Beibei District.

Yang Min, chairman of the Chongqing Photographic Association, said that the event involves a large number of people and enjoys wide influence, which is still a rarity in China. He added that in this era of ‘national photography,’ mobilizing citizens to record the development and changes of Chongqing with their mobile phones and cameras can allow them to feel the pulse of the times from their own perspective, and sense more happiness towards our well-off lives with ever greater confidence.
