Chongqing- It was the Dragon Boat Festival yesterday, and to celebrate the day online on social media, we needed a quick poster that we could put online. But rather than having to draw or design a poster for today, I decided to photograph one of the festival's signature foods, the Zongzi.
Zongzi is a glutinous rice ball wrapped in leaves, often with some kind of additional fillings such as meat or eggs, mostly eaten around the time of the Dragon Boat Festival which, this year, falls on June 25th. They are not a particular favorite food of mine, but I decided to order a handful of them to use for my little photography project. I then started out clearing a space in my living room to bring in some light, something to use for a background, and then I went to work.
