Construction of T3B Terminal, Fourth Runway of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport to Begin This Year

Recently, Chongqing Public Resources Trading Center issued the notice of geological engineering survey (filed witness) for the construction of the T3B terminal, fourth runway, and supporting facilities of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. The project is going to build a 350,000-square-meter T3B terminal, a parallel runway with a distance of 380 meters from the existing east runway and a taxiway system.

According to the notice, the construction of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport's T3B terminal will begin this year. A 350,000-square-meter T3B terminal, a 3,400-3,800 meter runway, a 100,000-square-meter freight terminal, and corresponding supporting facilities will be built, and a fully automatic passenger MRT system will be connected to the T1, T2 and T3 terminal areas. The terminal is designed to handle 80 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of freight and mail.

This year, Chongqing will accelerate the construction of the local airport, complete the preliminary review and approval of the T3B terminal and the fourth runway of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, and start the construction of the main structure, according to the 2020 Chongqing Transport Work Conference.
