The 2020 National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) or Gaokao will take place on July 7-8. On the morning of July 7, the report meeting for the 2020 National College Entrance Examination in Chongqing was held.

As said at the meeting, 283,000 Chongqing students have signed up for 2020 NCEE, representing an increase of 18,700 over 2019. But due to COVID-19, this year's examination has been postponed for a month. Some schools are chosen as examination venues and then reopened for the first time since the outbreak. At 8:30 on July 7, dozens of parents in Cheongsam were posing for photos in front of Chongqing Nankai Secondary School. As Cheongsam symbolizes "success" in China, many parents would wear Cheongsam on the two special days to wish their children could perform their best in this critical examination. There are also some parents wearing red clothes, for red symbolizes "joy" in China.

By 8:30, students had been checked into respective examination rooms one by one. Seeing that, parents waiting outside grew a little bit relaxed. Some of them in Cheongsam started to talk with each other and posed for the group photo. Moreover, traffic control is imposed at some roads nearby, support service points are set up outside for both students and parents, and school security staff use a loudspeaker to warn students to wear a mask and show exam admission ticket before entering. Three customized buses arrived on time, and then students got off one by one and queued for entry. Thanks to the support of all sides, students were checked in smoothly and started their first test.
