On July 9, the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with Beibei District to build an advanced demonstration zone for intelligent manufacturing jointly. Chongqing will rely on outstanding companies such as Silian Group to accelerate industrial agglomeration, enhance innovation capabilities, and vigorously develop the intelligent sensor industry. Chongqing's intelligent sensor industry is expected to exceed 15 billion yuan by 2025.

Intelligent sensor

The development and application of intelligent sensor technology is an important indicator of informatization for a country. The continuous development of technology, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), has created a broad space for the application of intelligent sensors.

The intelligent sensor industry in Chongqing mainly prospers in Beibei. A related industrial chain covering "material + design + manufacturing + packaging & testing + integration" has initially taken shape, and the capacity in the production of a full range of fundamental industrial sensors such as those for temperature, pressure, and flow achieved. In China, Silian Group is the largest state-owned instrumentation enterprise, Holley Technology Ltd., the largest privately-owned smart meter manufacturer, and Yokogawa Sichuan Instrument Co., Ltd. occupies the largest market share with its EJA series smart transmitters.

At SCE last year, Beibei was titled "An Industrial Base Specialized in Sensors in Chongqing." According to the memorandum, with Shuitu High-tech Industrial Park, Caijia Smart New Town, and Beibei area of Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone as the main components in this field, Chongqing will give full play to the leading role of Silian Group, extend the industrial chain, facilitate industrial agglomeration, and build an industrial base specialized in intelligent sensor with high standards.
