In the first half of this year, Liangjiang New Area's GDP grew by 4.8% year on year, ranking the top in Chongqing. Against the backdrop of a complex and volatile international situation and the COVID-19 pandemic not yet eradicated, Liangjiang has accomplished the following three major tasks:

First, Liangjiang has grasped new opportunities, develop around the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and create a reputation as a smart city. At the beginning of this year, the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle has been lifted as a national strategy. Liangjiang New Area and Tianfu New Area have been entrusted with the important mission of jointly building an inland open gate. The former quickly set up the joint office for building Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and worked together with the latter towards the same development direction. Within two months, the two areas have conducted three cooperations.

Second, Liangjiang has made new achievements. The local automobile industry developed with high quality, and the electronic information industry grew against all the odds. In the first half of this year, the industrial added value of Liangjiang reached 26.05 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0%, and the industrial added value also led the city.

Third, Liangjiang has released new impetus and accelerated major projects. Since this year, a number of major projects, including Geely, Sany Group, and Harbin Institute of Technology, have settled in the area. Liangjiang was the first to launch online contracting in Chongqing, which has accelerated the cluster development of high-end, high-quality, and high-tech industries by attracting investment.

Data show that in the first half of this year, the value-added of the services in Liangjiang increased by 4.5%. Of these, the value-added of the financial industry increased by 9.5%, and the online sales of goods reached 48.464 billion yuan, up by 91.2% year-on-year. In the second half of the year, Liangjiang will adhere to the big data intelligent innovation as the guide, focus on building an open inland gateway and building a smart city of Chongqing, accelerate the implementation of major projects, expedite the construction of major platforms, ensure the completion of annual targets and tasks, and strive to achieve high-quality development.
