Chongqing- Focusing on the night-time economy, Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China will hold the 2020 Chongqing Nightlife Festival from late July to October, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce on July 22.

Themed with "Night Chongqing, Trendy Life," the event integrates businesses, culture, and tourism involving consumption promotion, cultural experience, and creative living. Its launch ceremony will take place in Yuzhong District in downtown Chongqing on July 31. Meanwhile, the live broadcast will be connected with Jiangbei District, Beibei District, Yongchuan District, Qianjiang District, and Kaizhou District. From August to October, more than 150 nightlife themed activities will be held in the core areas of the night-time economy in districts and counties, including the 12^th International Beer Festival. The event hosts are the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, district- and county-level governments, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing High-tech Zone, and Wansheng Economic Development Zone.

Relied on the Chongqing Night-time Economy Development Alliance, Chaohui Night Chongqing, an online and offline platform combing Chongqing's local night consumption and promotion, has been established. Preferential promotion benefits, Consumer Coupon Pre-sale, and other night-time consumer discount activities will be available for the general public. Starting from July 31, consumers can participate in these activities by searching for the keyword "Chongqing Nightlife Festival" ("不夜重庆生活节" in Chinese) on internet platforms such as Alipay.

In addition, to further promote the development of the night-time economy, Chongqing will also hold two professional conferences, one being the 2020 China (Chongqing) Night-time Economy Development Forum on August 1 and the other being the 2020 National Cities with Night-time Economic Vitality Release Event on October 9. The forum is to conduct in-depth discussions on night-time economy development, urban commerce, culture and art, tourism, etc., and discuss the development prospects of China's night-time economy. Apart from the cities with night-time economic vitality, the annual national night-time economy white paper will also be released.
