Shopping Expo of Quality Export Products Opens in Chongqing

Chongqing- The shopping expo event of Quality Export Products Adding Radiance to Pedestrian Street opened on July 25 and will last to July 27 at Jiefangbei CBD in southwestern China’s Chongqing Municipality. It aims to expand sale channels for foreign trade companies by centralized exhibitions, the matchmaking meeting as well as other means, and further upgrade domestic consumption.

The shopping expo of Quality Export Products Adding Radiance to Pedestrian Street is held from July 25 to July 27 at Jiefangbei CBD in southwestern China’s Chongqing Municipality.

The event set up three exhibition areas covering service trade, subsidiary agricultural products, and consumer goods, with nearly 100 exhibitors and an exhibition area of 1,500 square meters. The event hosts were the Ministry of Commerce and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government; its organizers were the Foreign Trade Development Bureau, Ministry of Commerce, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Yuzhong District People’s Government.

Three exhibition areas cover service trade, subsidiary agricultural products, and consumer goods.

“Quality Export Products Adding Radiance to Pedestrian Street is one of a series of activities to transfer export products to domestic sales,” said Zhang Zhikui, director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce. “Chongqing will explore helpful experience and make contributions to promote consumption, stabilize foreign trade, and foreign investment.” He also mentioned that, in the first half of this year, Chongqing’s business economy accelerated its recovery growth, and the consumer market continued to pick up. Chongqing’s total export-import volume turned positive in the first six months by a growth rate of 3.5%.

At the Matchmaking Meeting for Foreign Trade Enterprises and Domestic Buyers, nearly 60 wholesale and retail buyers from the country were invited to carry out negotiations on the purchase of export products for domestic sales. Quality export products involved household appliances, electronic products, subsidiary agricultural products, textiles, daily necessities, food, and condiments.

In the next, policies to support the transfer of export products to domestic sales will be formulated to help enterprises explore the local market. Exhibitions in Chongqing and other cities will serve as platforms for export products selling. Meanwhile, online sales channels will be examined to ensure the security of market entities and production capacity. Relevant enterprises will be better served with training for domestic sales.
