The 2020 Chongqing Nightlife Festival, themed with "Night Chongqing, Trendy Life," kicked off in downtown Chongqing, China, on July 31.

Friday Evening's Jiefangbei, the famous pedestrian street in Yuzhong District, staged an urban event that integrates consumption promotion, cultural experience, creative life, and other business, tourism, and cultural industries.

The event hosts are the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, the governments of districts and counties (autonomous counties), and the Administrative Committee of Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing High-tech Zone and Wansheng Economic Development Zone. The launch ceremony was attended by relevant leaders of the Ministry of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal People's Government, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, officials from districts and counties of Chongqing, city representatives from Tianjin, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Changsha, representatives of foreign consulates in Chongqing, Alibaba and the Chongqing Night-time Economy Development Alliance members.

The launch ceremony was held simultaneously with Jiangbei District, Nan'an District, Yongchuan District, Kaizhou District, Qianjiang District, and Beibei District for the first time. More than 150 themed activities will continue to be held throughout the city. In addition, the themed light show of the two rivers and four banks also appeared during the launch ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, the Chongqing Beer, winner of the 2018 Chongqing Night Market Cultural Festival Special Contribution Award, created the Tuborg brand store in Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, and meanwhile the interactive music game. Moreover, Tuborg Beer City Music Stage created by Chongqing Beer has brought the citizens a night of music enjoyment for three consecutive days. By then, musicians of different styles, such as folk and pop, will take turns on stage to create a summer night weekend music feast for the citizens.

According to the organizing committee, members of the Chongqing Night-time Economy Development Alliance have joined forces to gather tens of thousands of merchants across the city to create a local night-time consumption promotion platform in Chongqing-Chaohui Night Chongqing ("潮惠夜重庆" in Chinese). From now to October, consumers can enter the "Chonghui Night Chongqing" activity area by searching for the keyword "Chongqing Nightlife Festival" through applications such as Eleme and Alipay. There is also an integration of coupons for commercial complexes, supermarkets and department stores, pre-sale of consumer coupons for pre-purchase.
