On August 1, the Third International Extreme Rope Swing Challenge Carnival kicked off in Ordovician Scenic Area, Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. Challengers from all over the world jumped down from a cliff with a vertiginous drop of more than 300 meters. The scene was very thrilling and stunning.

In a way, extreme rope swing is bungee jumping, but challengers neither use flexible ropes nor bounce up and down. Instead, their trajectory is like a fan centered around the supporting point.

So far, the Carnival has been successfully held for two years. The rope hangs above the over-300-meter-deep cliff between the Sky Suspension Gallery and the Cloud Gallery Bridge in the Ordovician Scenic Area. With a sharp drop and a long span, the venue is trendy among extreme sports lovers both at home and abroad. A challenge video shot here has received tens of millions of views.

This year has set up groups such as Team Challenge, Hero Challenge, Individual Challenge, and International Challenge, and fancy jumpings including Jumping in Han clothing, Couple Jumping, Team Jumping, and has attracted more than 3,000 challengers worldwide.

August 1 was the first day of the Carnival, and 25 rope swing challenges were held. Next, more challenges will be held on every Wednesday and Saturday until August 15.

"So thrilling! Challengers jump down from such a dizzy height with only a finger-thick rope fastened to them. My heart is right in my mouth!" said a visitor from Sichuan with admiration.

During the Carnival, the Ordovician Scenic Area will open at 19:00 every night from today, and the admission is free.
