On the afternoon of August 12, Lianglu/Cuntan Free Trade Port Area (CFTA) of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area signed an agreement online through video with Shuangliu Park of Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. As per the agreement, the two sides will build together an international aviation hub, a special customs supervision zone, and an experimental free trade zone in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

First, an international aviation hub channel will be built. The two sides will encourage airlines to set up bases in mutual airports, develop air routes in a coordinated manner, and achieve mutual complementarity in air route development; see Chengdu and Chongqing airports as a whole, pursue coordinated progress in airport development, and enhance alignment in the aviation market and policymaking.

The two sides will further expand the activity scope of passengers enjoying the 144-hour visa-free transit policy.

Second, each other's 144-hour visa-free transit policy will be recognized mutually. The two sides will request support from the Ministry of Public Security to allow transit airline passengers to choose ports of entry on their own, and further, expand the activity scope of passengers enjoying the 144-hour visa-free transit policy.

Third, the building of western science city will be advanced together. The two sides will support each other to press respective home strengths in the industrial foundation, bonded function, and port platform, coordinate joint efforts to innovate exclusive customs supervision zone, explore new ways for bonded research and development, build together an electronic information bonded R&D center and a biomedical bonded R&D center, and advance together with the construction of the western (Chongqing and Chengdu) science city.

Fourth, international professional MICE activities will be held together. The two sides will support each other to make the most of international openness and cooperation platforms such as China (Sichuan)-ASEAN Free Trade Cooperation Center and "Belt and Road" Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center, cultivate and develop functions such as international bonded fairs and sales, "Belt and Road," and ASEAN feature, and promote the integrated development of trade, tourism, culture, and other industries.
