Nan'an NetEase to Build Cultural and Creative Industry Base

On September 9, Chongqing Nan'an District People's Government and NETEASE, a leading  internet technology company based in China, held a signing ceremony for key projects and strategic cooperation. Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly build the NetEase Cultural and Creative, Digital Economy Industry Park in Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone (CETZ), to integrate upstream and downstream industries. A 10-billion-yuan digital cultural and creative industry base featuring headquarters settlements, software development, and new media operations is about to take shape.

With this bilateral cooperation, NetEase can help with the integration of quality internet resources by fully utilize the district's dynamic business environment, industrial support policies, and efficient government services. Some NetEase ecosystem partners in sectors such as cultural creativity, video games, e-sports, animation, e-commerce, big data, and new media are also expected to come and help the district in building digital economy highland.

A total of 40 leading video game enterprises will be introduced to the park this year, with another 300 video game enterprises coming in the next three years, which will make Chongqing an important base for the country's game industry, according to the industrial park's director Ju Xiaodong.

In the future, the NetEase Cultural and Creative, Digital Economy Industrial Park will build on the city's advantages in university talents, industrial support policies, and prevalent user base, to create an industrial ecosystem covering video game development and release, e-sports event operations, broadcasting and re-broadcasting, IP development, etc.
