As a global prestigious event on the self-driving technological application, the 2020 i-VISTA Grand Challenge attracted 19 professional driving teams and 22 consumer drivers from car enterprises, universities, and research institutes. On the first day, the Strongest Car Brain Challenge was held which simulated the L4 and L5 self-driving scenarios commonly seen in urban transportation. Notably, Level 5 is currently the highest level of self-driving technologies. Scenarios that highly restore Chongqing's eight-dimensional complicated road conditions and the unexpected rain took the difficulty of the Challenge to a new level, but there were still 14 professional driving teams finishing it.
The Virtual Simulation Challenge is a new edition of this year. All the scenarios simulated came from "i-Scenario", a Chinese Typical Driving Scenarios Library of the CAERI Intelligent Connected Technology. Five driving teams competed on 36 highly difficult typical scenarios and examined the safety and compliance of self-driving cars.
On the second day, the ADAS Challenge was held, and 22 consumer individuals and their cars had a competition on the APS Challenge and the AEB Challenge that was as intense as that between professional driving teams. On the last day, the Commercialization Process Challenge was held and participated by 13 professional driving teams. As a team made it to the championship, the 2020 i-VISTA Grand Challenge came to a successful end.
