The 2020 Smart China Expo Online (SCE OL) commenced on Sept 15. iChongqing carries out a series of interviews with government officials, foreign consul-generals, and technology experts. In this interview, we have Mr. Koen Sizoo, the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chongqing, to talk about the smart pavilion of the Netherlands set up at the 2020 SCE OL.
At the Netherlands’ smart pavilion, the highlights are Smart Sports and Smart Logistics that are very important in the economic cooperation between the Netherlands and China. When talking about concrete projects that will be carried out under the facilitation of SCE, “This coming Saturday, we are going to open WePark, a small-scale sports facility, that has been augmented and improved with lots of smart technology, which will make it even more fun, more efficient and more modern for children and everyone in the neighborhood to use”, said Mr. Koen Sizoo.
Due to the Covid-19, many overseas exhibitors and visitors cannot attend the Expo in person, online becomes the primary mode of participation. Mr. Koen Sizoo pointed out that it’s the best illustration of smart technology, “by going digital, we actually get more views and bigger audiences. The audiences are not limited geographically. They don’t have to come to Chongqing themselves”, he said.
