Chongqing – As the 2020 Smart China Expo Online (SCE OL) will be held during Sept.15-17, iChongqing planned a special series “Dialogue with Tech Expert” and interview with people in the smart industry who have participated in SCE. In this episode, we have Christopher Lim, Consul General of Australia in Chengdu, to introduce how the Australian Consulate-General will participate in the 2020 SCE OL.

3 Queensland innovative companies will join SCE OL

China-Australia (Chongqing) Cloud Innovation & Commercialisation Roadshow was held on Sept. 11, in partnership with Chongqing FAO and Liangjiang New Area, launched Australia’s participation in this year’s Smart China Expo Online. Mr. Lim introduced that three Australian companies - Euclideon, Envirosuite, and Mox have participated in the roadshow last week, and they will bring their leading technologies in the holographic display, environmental monitoring, and automated manufacturing to 2020 SCE OL.

In the roadshow last week, Prof Ian Frazer from the University of Queensland, a world-famous immunologist, and co-inventor of the cervical cancer vaccine delivered the keynote speech on his collaboration with Chongqing counterparts since 2005. He was left with a positive impression of Chongqing after the first visit in 2019.

The roadshow brought together 11 innovative projects in the fields of health and the digital economy from both China and Australia.

Collaboration in the field of science for 50 years

According to Mr. Lim, the science and research relationship between China and Australia has been developing for over 50 years, the first collaboration in Radio Astronomy in the 1960s.

“In the health sector, Australia’s largest dedicated provider of cancer care, Icon Group, has launched its first joint cancer center with Sanbo Group in Chongqing, and serve the local community”, Mr. Lim indicated.

Mr. Lim hopes there is a great potential of collaboration between Australia and Chongqing, especially in the science, research, and health sectors.
