CAST and Hungary Facilitate Innovation-Driven International Development at SCE OL 2020

From September 15 to 17, the Smart China Expo Online 2020 (SCE OL 2020) was grandly held in Chongqing. The online exhibition hall of the National Exhibition Hall of Hungary was solely supported by the Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center in Chongqing, was synchronously opened to the public. From 2018 to 2019, 79 relevant enterprises and institutions from Hungary were organized by Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center in Chongqing to attend the first and second SCE. Entrusted by the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing this year, the Center exclusively conducted the organization and exhibition arrangement of the National Exhibition Hall of Hungary. In the process of exhibition arrangement, the maximum exhibition hall with an area of 500 square meters was selected, displaying 29 advanced application & innovation technology projects brought by related research institutions, universities, and enterprises, involving such fields as 3D design, automatic driving, medical and sanitary equipment, intelligent manufacturing and sewage treatment. Among them, the exhibited ZalaZon automatic driving proving ground could conduct not only the vehicle dynamics test that emphasized the traditional driving stability and driving control, but the test for driverless and electric vehicles, setting up an all-around inspection facility for the future vehicle and communication technology.

The online exhibition hall

During the Expo, in the form of a remote video conference, Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center and Chongqing Yizhiwang Technology Co., Ltd. organized the online matchmaking between relevant institutions in the city and the exhibited projects of Hungary, which was also attended by Bálint Czégel, Consul of Economic Affairs of Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing. On September 15, Hungarian Magnus Aircraft and Chongqing General Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd. conducted the second negotiation for cooperation. At the remote video conference for negotiation, László Boros, CEO of Magnus Aircraft, and Wu Jisen, vice-president of Chongqing General Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd., introduced relevant technologies and qualifications of their companies respectively. Afterward, the two sides had a profound discussion on R&D, manufacturing, sales of aviation products, and pilot training, achieving an initial intention of cooperation on introducing related products of Magnus Aircraft for domestic manufacturing and sales. Established in 2013, Magnus Aircraft, with subsidiaries in China, America, Australia, and Kenya, is a leading aviation-product manufacturer in Hungary, mainly engaging in R&D and manufacturing of multi-purpose light-sport aircraft (LSA) and related composite materials. The developed electric aircraft and LSA have successively won the European Innovation Award and the Hungarian Innovation Award. Attaching great importance to the Chinese market, Magnus Aircraft was planning to introduce its innovative aviation products to China and set up manufacturing bases accordingly.

The remote video conference

On September 16, Hungarian FEMTONICS and UTTS negotiated for cooperation. At the remote video conference for negotiation, Richard Kozma, International Sales Manager of FEMTONICS, and Yin Qiang, General Manager of UTTS, separately introduced the relevant technologies and qualifications of their companies. The two sides had an initial exchange on introducing the core technology of the ventilator LUCA to realize domestic registration, manufacturing, and sales, hoping to keep and strengthen the mutual contacts through the Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center, the international technology transfer platform, to discuss the detailed cooperation pattern further.

Attached to Chongqing Academy of Science and Technology (CAST), under the guidance of Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, Chinese-Hungarian Technology Transfer Center in Chongqing has built the first official technology transfer platform between China and the relevant government departments of Hungary, which is also a specific measure to implement the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and Hungary's state policy of "Opening to the East."
