Chongqing- On September 13th, the large-scale culture and tourism promotion activity "2020 Chongqing Showcase" was live-streamed, focusing on Nan'an District. Yiqing Chen, the mayor of Nan'an District, leads viewers to listen to the stories, enjoy the culture, and appreciate the beautiful scenery of Nan'an. The live stream received more than 10 million likes from online viewers, and the general response was satisfactory.

Nan'an, located in the south of the Yangtze River, is the eye of Chongqing. Being the optimum production, living and ecological space and a high-quality city suitable for work, living, recreation, and travel, it also serves as the "reception room" of Chongqing. Nan'an offers a wonderful cultural and tourist journey for tourists from all over the world.

Chen started by introducing the charming view of Nanbin Road. Nanbin Road witnesses and records the past and development of the city, exhibiting its beauty and charm. Wandering on Nanbin Road, one can sense a mixture of diverse cultural elements that are historical, modern, fashionable, or faddish, rendering either a serene or passionate atmosphere. Like the way Chongqing hot pot blends various ingredients, the road combines the varied ethos of human life.

Chen continued by describing some of the unique cultural and creative products in Nan'an. During the live stream, 20 Nan'an cultural products were selected and released at a reasonable price, enriching consumers' interests to buy. From a cruise tour to the Nanshan Hot Spring, from a modern acrobatic performance to a wide variety of snacks and food, the live stream not only showcased the cultural tourism boutiques of Nan'an but also boosted the local economy and consolidated the development of cultural tourism.

Meanwhile, Nan'an strictly adopts unique traditional crafts and formulas, and bears distinct features, involving the Tushan kiln, a kind of folk kiln in Song Dynasty, which combines the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty and ancient Ba people's life wisdom; the Nanshan "Land Style" hotpot, with a self-contained system, that was created by ancient horse caravans in their journey; Scent Peanuts, a snack food brand founded in Longmenhao Sub-district, which is famous for Chengdu and Chongqing's customers; and "Ganpopo fermented glutinous rice brewing" technique, that combines centuries-old yeast passed down from our ancestors with traditional handicraft.  

According to Chen, Nan'an is making efforts to promote the deep integration of tourism and other industries, with a plan to build the largest green island in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River -- Guangyang Island, to promote Chongqing to the world. As phase I of the ecological restoration project is now completed as scheduled, the island is tentatively opened to the public through an appointment.
