"As the sweet-scented osmanthus quietly blooms in the evening, its faint shadow is reflected on the curtain, forming a poetic autumn landscape." The sweet-scented osmanthus scents the air in Yubei District as the flowers are now in full bloom, giving the locals a relaxed and delightful feeling. The flowers' fragrance is the highlight of this season, in which everything withers gradually. This time, iChongqing would like to recommend some destinations for enjoying the beauty and scent of the sweet-scented Osmanthus!

Chongqing Garden Expo Park

The main square of Chongqing Garden Expo Park is lined with osmanthus trees laden with faint yellow flowers. Numerous lovely buds have sprouted among the branches and leaves, looking incredibly gorgeous against the green leaves. Strolling in the woods, you can smell wafts of perfume, refreshing and intoxicating. The light petals flutter to the ground as the wind blows, perfuming the garden with the sweet scent!

Longtou Temple Park

Being shaded by trees, the park is popular with the citizens because everything needed is available, such as fitness centers, wetlands, entertainment venues, original ecological lakes, and all kinds of landscapes. The park also boasts China's largest "grove of trees planted by academicians" to commemorate the Annual Meeting of China Association for Science and Technology held in Chongqing in 2009. Academicians planted more than 140 osmanthus trees at that time, hence the name. Under each tree, there is a landscape stone engraved with the name of the academician who planted it. Academician Yang Zhenlin and his wife planted one of these trees.

Several landscapes with distinctive cultural features also lie in the park, including the monument of the "grove of trees planted by academicians," the "grove of trees for heroines," the "grove of trees of deputies to the National People's Congress," and 18 couplets at nine pavilions and corridors. The sweet scent attracts numerous visitors to the park to take pictures and admire the beauty of the osmanthus flowers. Some people also collect fallen flowers for making the osmanthus jelly. This grove of osmanthus trees presents a feast of both sight and smell and creates a healthy cultural atmosphere.
