The Offline 2020 CICTIE to Kick Off on Oct. 15

The offline 2020 Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo (CICTIE) will start in the northern exhibition hall of Chongqing International Expo Center from October 15-18. The theme exhibition, organized in ten major venues, will open on a total area of 30,000 square meters.

Up to one thousand photographers will bring into sharp focus the CICTIE, the Summit Forum on Culture-Tourism Integration will release the 3rd T12 Overall Tourism Evaluation List & the Annual Tourism List of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, the Model Contest for Splendid Hanfu will highlight the beauty of traditional Chinese culture, fine Bashu New Year paintings will add brilliance to the present splendor of culture-tourism integration … The CICIE organizing committee has prepared a slew of activities in the offline exhibition areas for Chongqing citizens and tourists alike to attend a sumptuous feast of culture and tourism.

Almost one thousand photographers will gather at the CICTIE on an opening day to take snapshots of the event, shooting pictures of Chongqing’s achievements in culture-tourism integration, archiving the consummate skills of folk artisans, live streaming culture-tourism transactions, communications, and integration at the bustling venues, and discovering the pure genius of “concealed” big names in folk photography.

Sources indicate that more than 1,000 folk photographers will enter this "CICTIE Highlights" live snapshot contest jointly organized by the CICTIE organizing committee and Visual Chongqing Media Technology Co., Ltd.  In addition, a grand prize worth 3,000 yuan will be awarded to the winning work, which will possibly be streamed on the "Sights of Chongqing" streaming exhibition platform. Chengdu and Chongqing will pool their respective strength to seek ways of culture-tourism integration

The Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle Summit Forum on Culture-Tourism Integration & the 3rd T12 Western China Culture and Tourism Industry Development Summit will be held in Chongqing International Expo Center beginning at 14:00 on October 15.

During the event, the Chongqing International Communication Center (for Culture and Tourism) will invite well-known experts, scholars, and officials from China’s culture and tourism industries and from Sichuan and Chongqing to give keynote speeches and go to round-table salons to discuss the building of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, culture-tourism integration, and the development trajectory of the industries in the new era. Meanwhile, local governments and well-known culture and tourism enterprises in western Chinese provinces/prefectures /municipalities including Sichuan and Chongqing will also be invited to promote and share the valuable experiences of culture-tourism integration destinations and the two industries, and to provide more local governments and culture and tourism enterprises with development and innovation ideas through in-depth analysis.

"The Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle Summit Forum on Culture-Tourism Integration can offer not only suggestions for the integrated development of culture and tourism in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, but also a platform for other regions to showcase their achievements in culture-tourism integration. What's more, it is hoped that this can provide new intellectual support, especially "external" intellectual support, for Chongqing to develop into an inland opening-up vantage point, to become a scenic city, and to promote high-quality development and improve the well-being of its citizens, said Li Chonghua, director of the Institute of Culture and History of the Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences, in the interview.

It is reported that the summit forum will be initiated by Chongqing Daily News Group, Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group Co., Ltd., and the CICTIE organizing committee, and undertaken by the Institute of Culture and History of the Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences (Development Research Center of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government), the Tourism Development Center of Chongqing Daily News Group, Chongqing News Tourism Group and T12 Travel Media Alliance of Western China. It will surpass all previous CICTIEs in terms of scale, lineup, and content. The 3rd T12 Overall Tourism Evaluation List · Annual Tourism List of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle will be released and awarded at the forum.

Hanfu (traditional Chinese garment) lovers will stage a show of traversing eras to have a dialogue with the ancient times through clothing.

The Model Contest for Splendid Hanfu will be on show to enhance the building of ideological infrastructure in Chongqing. The show is going to select the "current outstanding communicators of Chinese culture" to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture. It will also provide a stage for numerous hanfu fans to show the development course of Chinese history and culture through clothing with national characteristics. The model show will be co-organized by the Hanfu Culture Research and Performance Committee of the Chongqing Confucius and Confucian Philosophy Studies Association, Chongqing Chengjun Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and Five-dimension Culture and Art Development Co., Ltd. (Chongqing), will be launched offline at the exhibition area of Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo.

By then, 130 hanfu fans from Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Anhui, Henan, Beijing, Hunan and Shaanxi, and other places will gather at the Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo to bring a feast of clothing for locals in Chongqing and tourists, which is expected to show the beauty of traditional Chinese culture in a physical manner.

The exquisite New Year paintings of Bashu take you to appreciate the national-level intangible heritage.

There are numerous New Year paintings in Bashu including Liang Ping New Year painting "Door-gods", Mianzhu New Year Painting "Birthday Regards from the Beauty", and Jiajiang New Year Painting "Gan Pan", among others. This year's Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo will also hold "Colorful Bashu with Chinese Characteristics-Liang Ping, Mianzhu, Jiajiang New Year Paintings and the New Year Painting Exhibition of Chinese National-level Intangible Heritage". Meanwhile, a series of interactive and sharing activities will be carried out.

According to Li Lian, the organizer of this year's New Year Painting Exhibition and the former curator of the Folk Art Museum, the exhibition will not only focus on the New Year paintings of Chongqing's Liangping, Sichuan's Mianzhu, and Jiajiang that have entered the national intangible cultural heritage list in Chongqing and Sichuan areas but also will display masterpieces of national intangible cultural heritage from more than ten places in China. At the special sharing sessions, the audience will be introduced to the historical origins, artistic features, and production techniques of New Year paintings in Liang Ping, Mianzhu, and Jiajiang. Meanwhile, award-winning interaction activities incorporating relevant knowledge of the New Year paintings will follow. During the entire exhibition, there will also be activities such as guided appreciation of New Year painting art, the experience of New Year painting production, and New Year painting-themed display of creative culture.

Li Lian said, “I hope that the Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo will influence more people to enjoy traditional Chinese New Year paintings and love traditional culture. At the same time, I hope to establish extensive and diversified cooperation with various cultural tourism platforms and companies. Thus, in the context of integrated tourism development, the extensively-themed and profound traditional Chinese New Year painting art will add icing on the cake of cultural tourism development."

Two Artistic Troupes will join hands on Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo to deliver a cultural feast for the public.

Although they cannot hear outside voices, they can still show a beautiful life by dancing. Although they cannot see the world, they can still sing for dreams in the dark. From October 15 to 17, the 2020 Chongqing Special Art Tour, hosted by Chongqing Disabled Persons' Federation, will be held offline in the exhibition area of Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo.

The actors of the Chongqing Disabled People's Art Troupe will bring more than 10 wonderful performances including the group dance "Mountain and Flowing Water", the musical play "Devotion of Love", modern Peking opera "Ode to Pear Blossoms", oral performance "The Great Sage", and sign language eulogy "Fragrant Oath".

In addition, in the Chinese folk art special session on October 16, the actors of the Chongqing Folk Art Troupe will also bring the song "Break the Kuimen Gate" played with Yangqin, a national intangible cultural heritage of Sichuan, Sichuan Qingyin song "Kite Flying", and modern new folk music "Glory", singing with dancing "We Are All Dreamers", dance "Flowers in the Flourishing Age" and other Chinese folk art programs.
