The First Rabbit and Laifeng Fish Cooking Competition Launched in Bishan

Chongqing- On the afternoon of September 30, the first Bishan Rabbit and Laifeng Fish Cooking Competition in 2020 was officially launched in the Nanmen Tangcheng Cold Wine Night Market of Bishan District. The event has attracted more than 100 cooking enthusiasts and professional catering enterprise chefs to showcase their cooking skills, and opened a colorful and characteristic food tour for citizens and tourists.

Top Three Winners Will Gain Up to RMB 10,000 Cash Reward

The competition includes five auditions, one promotion event, and one final, with each presenting different cooking competition themes. Twelve contestants will stand out and compete for the top three places of the Bishan Rabbit and Laifeng Fish Cooking Competition and other individual awards. The winner will not only get a cash reward of up to RMB 10,000, but also get free publicity from different media organizations.

According to the relevant staff, the theme of this cooking competition was “white lovers,” which requires the contestants to make white-related cold dishes. They need to complete the creation of dishes within 15 minutes, and there will be three judges will evaluate their dishes in the end. During the competition, 12 contestants showed their skills, such as cutting vegetables, stir-frying, dish arrangement, and sauce pouring.

Furthermore, another cooking competition themed on “different colors” will be held in the Nanmen Tangcheng during the National Day holiday, from October 1 to October 4. The selected 12 contestants will be divided into two groups, with six cooking with Bishan rabbits and six cooking with Laifeng fish, making dishes in turn. They will also work together to prepare dinners for over 30 public judges to score and vote, and the professional judges will taste and comment on the dishes of each group and select the first, second and third places.

The theme of this cooking competition was “white lovers.”

Promote the Food Culture of Fish and Rabbit in Bishan

According to the relevant staff at Bishan District Commission of Commerce, through this culinary competition, they hope to inherit further and publicise the food culture of Bishan District, create a festival atmosphere with the participation of tourists during the National Day holiday, and promote the development of Bishan cold wine brands.

The cooking competition would be held in Bishan in conjunction with the 12th China Western Animation Culture Festival, the first University Town (Western District) Music Season, and the opening ceremony of the Xiuhu International Handicraft Town of Intangible Cultural Heritage. All of the events share the same target, which is to jointly promote the city image of “elegant Bishan · garden city,” the tourism image of “excellent tourism destination,” and the industrial image of “science and technology Bishan, innovation Bishan.”
