Through a decade of unremitting efforts, Yufu Industrial Development Zone of Liangjiang New Area has achieved remarkable results in many aspects.

The Zone is home to Chang'an Automobile Global R&D Center, which was put into operation on April 9, 2019, and houses 180 testing labs and integrates autonomous driving, internet of vehicles, and automobile big data and research and development.

It has also attracted some heavyweight research and development and manufacturing institutions such as AT&S, a global leader in high-end printed circuit board manufacturing, and ABB, a Fortune Global 500 company.

A cluster zone for smart industries and smart manufacturing 

As Yufu is a benchmark of smart manufacturing in Liangjiang New Area, Chang'an Automobile is that of Yufu.

Located in Yufu Industrial Development Zone of Liangjiang New Area, Chang'an Automobile Global R&D Center was put into service on April 9, 2019. With a total investment of 4.3 billion yuan, the center has seven functions and houses 180 testing labs covering 12 fields.

With its function integration in project management, engineering design, simulation analysis, modeling design, prototype production, and test verification, the center has greatly enhanced Chang'an Automobile's technical strength in smart driving, intelligent network, green and environmental protection, pleasant driving, and digital research and development.

An industrial distribution in the automobile industry with five original equipment manufacturers including Chang'an Automobile, Beijing Hyundai, Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., Chongqing Ruichi Automobile Industry Co., Ltd., and SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., as well as 82 auto parts companies, has formed. Eventually, Yufu will achieve an industrial scale of two million finished vehicles and three million engines.

In the past ten years since its establishment, Yufu Industrial Park has invested 126.6 billion yuan in fixed assets, utilized 4.1 billion US dollars in foreign investment, and achieved seven billion yuan in public budget payment and 22.6 billion yuan in tax payment.

Building a smart city for a new ecosystem

While Liangjiang New Area is pushing forward its development of "an open Liangjiang, a smart city" in full swing, Yufu will partner with Longxing to build an innovation corridor for smart manufacturing. To that end, Liangjiang New Area will focus its efforts on gathering smart industries and smart manufacturing, attracting more high-end professionals, promoting industry digitization, making Yufu into a pivotal supporting area and an application area for the building of "a powerhouse of smart manufacturing" and "a famous smart city."

More than 40 smart production lines, eight smart factories, and 17 smart digital workshops have been built here.

Yufu has also made great moves to advance the development of the digital industry. A new factory building of AT&S, with a total investment of one billion Euros, is in the pipeline and will provide high-end semiconductor package substrates for high-performance computing modules for the global market when it goes into service in 2022. Unis Insight Digital Factory will achieve a fully intelligent process from research and development to manufacturing in intelligent security equipment manufacturing.

As a pilot area for citywide smart industrial parks, Yufu is stepping up its efforts to construct new infrastructures such as 5G networks and the smart city's development, making it a centralized demonstration area for smart city applications. Plus, Liangjiang New Area encourages enterprises to empower themselves with digital technologies and goes to great lengths to propel the development of Yufu and industry compounding and improve industrial chains, pursuing a more sound ecosystem and sustainable development.
