Building Western China Science and Technology Innovation Center by teaming up with Tianfu New Area

CLCIZ, as one of three key smart innovation platforms in Liangjiang New Area, has been attracting much attention throughout its development history.

As for building the science and technology innovation center, Chongqing stressed at its mobilization meeting to promote the development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle on this March 23 that it would take the innovation in big data and intelligent technologies as the leading force, pool innovation factors, and create a better innovation ecosystem, making innovation a powerful driver for high-quality development.

Liangjiang New Area and Tianfu New Area agreed on their three cooperation projects in two months to strengthen the innovation collaboration. Relying on CLCIZ and Chengdu Science City, the two sides will implement major national science and technology projects and build national science and technology innovation bases to build the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Center.

Guiding the deep integration of the industry chain and innovation chain

The Innovation Sigma Space has attracted ten application testing teams from five famous universities, such as the Beijing Institute of Technology, East China Normal University, and Tongji University. They have applied for more than ten key science and technology research projects.

Meanwhile, CLCIZ is taking active moves to create the Mingyue Lake innovation ecosystem for science and technology. It will pool its efforts on Mingyue Lake International Science and Technology Innovation Base for Smart Industry, Mingyue Lake Central Research Institute for Smart Industry. Mingyue Lake–Chongqing University Science and Technology Innovation Platform for New Engineering Education promotes the high-quality development of the digital economy in Liangjiang New Area and injects a strong impetus for Chongqing's ambition to become a smart city.

"CLCIZ adheres to the position of 'S&T Innovation and Industry' and makes collaborative layout in industry chain and innovation chain," said Wang Zhijie, Executive Deputy Director of Management Committee of Liangjiang New Area. The deep integration of the industry chain and innovation chain will contribute to forming the cluster of a wide array of strategic emerging industries.

The two-pronged approach in talent attraction online and affordable housing project

Liangjiang New Area is stepping up its efforts in the introduction of top universities and research institutions, as well as talent attraction.

A principal from the Organization and Personnel Department of Liangjiang New Area said that this June, the Area designated CLCIZ as the venue for its online talent recruitment series's first special activity. The event aims to recruit global high-level talent in the form of an online live broadcast. On the day of the event, 5.517 million people were attracted to watch the online live broadcast. More than 300,000 people viewed the online talent introduction area. Nearly 30,000 resumes were received within half an hour after the live broadcast ended.

Creating a park-surrounded zone featuring green travel and convenient life

According to Chongqing's master urban design plan, CLCIZ will highlight its characteristics, including beautiful landscape, green and intelligent applications, opening-up and sharing, vitality, and diversity.

A beautiful spatial pattern will be created based on the local natural landscape, history and culture, and public facilities. After its completion, CLCIZ will include one city-level park covering an area of around 666,666.7 square meters, four district-level parks covering an area of around 133,333.3 square meters, and more than 10 community-level green spaces, with a forest coverage rate over 50%.

With measures to develop smart application scenarios, improve infrastructure and enhance functional supporting facilities, CLCIZ will build modern and smart international high-end communities featuring the integration of industries, city, and tourism to provide its high-tech professionals with comprehensive services, including international communication, technology transformation, medical and health care, basic education, living facilities, and long-term rental apartments.
