On the morning of October 8, the dispatch ceremony of the first batch of 200 SERES electric vehicles (EVs) exported to Germany took place at the Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park. This batch of intelligent EVs of SERES 3, a brand of Sokon Group, will arrive in Germany in one month by sea.
This is the first batch of SERES intelligent EVs exported to Germany after 100 vehicles of DFSK Glory ix5 were exported to the country through the China Railway Express (Yuxinou) special train for vehicles on April 15 this year. The first time that new energy passenger vehicles made in Chongqing have been exported to Europe, the three commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and Sokon Group vehicles have thoroughly entered the European market. This is another fruit scored by Sokon Group and Dongfeng Motor through comprehensively deepening strategic cooperation.
Zhang Xinghai, founder and Chairman of Sokon Group, said at the ceremony that in the past three years, Sokon Group had invested more than 10 billion yuan in the development of intelligent EVs. It has pooled world-leading technologies and talented professionals to develop advanced pure electric drive technology and intelligent extended-range electric drive technology, build nationally-leading and world-class big data intelligent plants, and roll out industry-leading intelligent EVs represented by SERES SF5 and SERES 3. The fact that SERES 3 enters the European market and competes with models developed by China-foreign joint ventures while enjoying great popularity in the domestic market demonstrates Sokon Group’s strength in intelligent manufacturing, the high quality-price ratio, and top-notch quality of its automobile products.
As the global automobile market has been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic this year, Sokon Group has been exploring new opportunities in the crisis, embracing changes in the turbulent situation, and continuously expanding its domestic and international markets.
In this first half-year, Sokon Group had made headway in promoting its commercial vehicles into Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, and Ecuador, thus restoring its leading position in exporting mini-vehicles. Breakthroughs had been made in introducing its DFSK Glory ix5 passenger vehicles into the European market. In the same period, the cumulative sales volume of its NEVs in Europe totaled 414,000, up 57% year on year. Sokon Group has found great development opportunities in Europe, a crucial market for NEVs in the world.
