Hosted by the Administration of Sport of Chongqing and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, and organized by Chongqing Yubei People's Government, the 4th Chongqing Conference on Sport Tourism Industry Development will be held in Yubei District on October 16, 2020. This conference is a result of an in-depth discussion on how to drive innovative development of sport tourism, promote the deep integration of sports and tourism, and advance high-quality development of Chongqing's sports tourism as epidemic containment becomes a routine. Therefore, this year's event will focus on Chongqing's sports tourism development reality to advance high-quality industry development and become a role model for national sports tourism development.

The 4th Chongqing Conference on Sport Tourism Industry Development will be held in Yubei District on October 16, 2020.

Under the guidance of building "China's first-choice outdoor sports destination", it will pay more attention to the integrated development of sports tourism, showing many highlights.

First, it calls for in-depth integration of national fitness and national health. Now, Yubei District has built a stadium, a national fitness center, and other large sports venues, and reformed construction of public sports venues in function and mechanism so as to bring into full play the advantages of sports venue resources and deliver tangible benefits to people and businesses. Notably, Jihua Sports Park is developing well, and has been selected among "National Characteristic Sports Towns". Amid growing public interest in extreme sports, outdoor sports, and sporting events, it has identified a unique development road with Yubei District's characteristics of pursuing integrated development of sports and tourism.

Officials from Sichuan Sports Bureau and Chengdu Sports Bureau were also invited, as an active move to implement the coordination mechanism for the development of the sports industries of Chongqing and Sichuan, conduct deep cooperation, and build a communication platform for integrated development, contributing to the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

At the conference, the issue of how to develop the sports tourism industry in an innovative manner under regular epidemic prevention and control will be discussed. During the conference, the Administration of Sport of Chongqing and Consulate General of the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Chongqing will sign the Memorandum on Cooperation in Sports Development, in pursuit of strengthening cooperation in football, sports infrastructures, and the introduction of sports events. Chongqing is expected to introduce British football, motor racing, snooker, horse riding, rugby, aquatic sports, and outdoor sports. Chongqing will also strengthen cooperation in the design, upgrading, and operation and services of sports events for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and other major events.

Moreover, the Administration of Sport of Chongqing and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development will release three quality projects including sports tourism events, routes and complex. The Administration of Sport of Chongqing will sign a strategic cooperation agreement with the Sichuan Tourism Investment Group to deepen cooperation between sports and scenic areas.
