The Upper Yangtze River City Flower Art Expo (U.C.F.A.) is coming back for the third time on Oct. 20. According to Wednesday's press conference, it will be held at the Chongqing Garden Expo Park with a total participation area of 1 million square meters, almost ten times the size of its previous editions.

First started in 2018, U.C.F.A. has been successfully held in Chongqing’s Jiangbeizui CBD for two years, attracting citywide even nationwide attention to this annual grand flower show. This year’s event is scheduled to be held in the popular city park, Chongqing Garden Expo Park, from Oct. 20 to 29.

The expo is expected to have a much larger scale, more beautiful landscapes, better equipment facilities, and enhanced visitor experience, with an exhibition area of 48,000 square meters and a participation area of 1 million square meters, which is about ten times the size of the last two years’.

“All of the city’s counties and districts and three other municipal-level parks will also join the flower expo in the form of ‘onsite exhibition’ and ‘origin place exhibition,’ under the ‘one main park, multiple sub-venues’ scheme,” said Zeng Wei, deputy director of the 3^rd U.C.F.A.’s organizing committee and vice mayor of Chongqing’s Jiangbei District, at the press conference.

“Online platforms will also be used to host video exhibitions simultaneously, allowing citizens to appreciate the beauty of U.C.F.A both virtually and physically.”

The “Cloud Chongqing Flower Expo” exhibition-viewing platform is specially built to make the event more inclusive and reach a wider audience. Those who couldn’t watch the exhibition on-site can also easily follow the event via the “VR panoramic view” option provided on the platform. It should be mentioned that even if you are planning on paying a visit to the park in person, you would still need to make online reservations first on this mini-app. Real-name ID verification is needed to make time-specific reservations, and an e-ticket will be sent to your phone later for convenient access.

This year’s flower expo will continue with the theme “a city of mountains and rivers, a place of beauties and blessings,” presenting citizens with innovative garden landscapes, exquisite horticultural arts, new strains of flower and plants, potted miniature trees, and the city’s latest achievements in urban beautification.
