Starting from October 13, citizens flood into the Golden Autumn Book Fair of Chongqing City 2020 at Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street.

As an annually held book feast, this book fair session attracts more than 500 well-known publishing houses and assembles over 100,000 kinds of books at a venue area of about 1,500 square meters. The book fair has become a carnival for citizens with colorful activities and books, especially for book lovers.

On the afternoon of October 15, the themed exhibition area attracted readers' loads despite a drizzle in Chongqing.

"I have come here for three days in a row, and I brought different books back home every day. It's very exciting. Today, I bought books worth more than 1,000 yuan. Apart from a few books about daily life, most are theme publications." Qing Sun, a 75-year-old citizen, said he hoped to understand national political guidelines through those books better.

At the book fair, there are diversified reading activities and a vast sea of books. During the session, 26 offline and five online reading promotions will be held, leading citizens to feel a sense of unique charm while reading books.

The "Free Books for You" exhibition area was also attractive. Xian Wang, a local citizen, scanned a QR code on the wall to download books involving Twenty Lectures on World Famous Works of Fine Arts and A Short History of Nearly Everything.

"I heard the recommended books are all quality ones. I think that's true. I will purchase all these books back home and encourage my child to start reading them. I hope my child will realize the charm of reading," said Wang.
