Chongqing- The three-day China Chongqing Hot Pot Food Festival was successfully wrapped up. According to data from the organizer of this annual event, the Hot Pot Festival this year attracted 56,000 trade visitors to purchase and join the exhibition, with RMB 390 million in the offline business transactions.
The Hot Pot Festival’s exhibition area has achieved 60,000 square meters for the first time, attracting more than 600 hot pot industry chain enterprises from all over China to participate, and 56,000 trade visitors, including hot pot ingredient wholesalers distributors, hot pot operators, and franchisees. In addition, there were more than 1,000 representatives of relevant industry associations in Sichuan, Shandong, Guangdong, Gansu, Henan, Shaanxi, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hangzhou, Nanchong, and other provinces and cities participated in supporting activities related to the Hot Pot Festival.
In addition to the hot pot banquet, hot pot franchise chain exhibition, and featured exhibition of districts and counties, there were exhibition areas added, such as ingredients, condiments, equipment, and more.
With strict implementation of pandemic prevention and control, there were a total of 148,000 dining visitors received, and 45.3 tons of various food ingredients were consumed, achieving RMB 11.27 million on-site sales. The offline activities of this Hot Pot Festival had achieved a total business transaction of RMB 390 million. Among them, hot pot companies signed 1,137 cooperation agreements with food material suppliers, hot pot franchisees, and equipment manufacturers, with a contract value of RMB 345 million.
Moreover, this year, the Hot Pot Festival insisted on promoting poverty alleviation through stimulating consumption and industrial development. Six poor districts and counties, including Youyang, Shizhu, Fengdu, and so on, organized a group to participate in the exhibition, with RMB 23.4 million of the on-site sales and contract amount. Fengdu Spicy Chicken was popular with the public, with a three-day business transaction of 132,000 yuan.
Besides, there was a live stream room of Chongqing hot pot, which invited senior media representatives, business leaders, and gourmet KOLs to do the live stream to increase the Chongqing hot pot’s promotion brand. Cooperated with Meituan and Dianping, the festival organizer launched the online hot pot festival. According to data, from October 1 to 18, the total sales amounted to RMB 230 million. The cumulative network exposure frequency reached 120 million times, providing a useful reference for the digital transformation of hot pot enterprises.
