On the evening of October 23, the 2020 Chongqing Nightlife Festival Awards Ceremony was grandly held in Chongqing Outlets, marking the successful conclusion of the three-month 2020 Chongqing Nightlife Festival. During the three-month festival, various night-time promotional activities achieved sales of 12.1 billion yuan, driving sales growth of more than 28%. The 2020 Chongqing Nightlife Festival opened simultaneously in Yuzhong District, Jiangbei District, Nan’an District, Beibei District, Yongchuan District, Kaizhou District, and Qianjiang District at the end of July. During the event, businesses linked up with Alibaba’s local life platform such as Ele.me, Fliggy, Taopiao, and UnionPay Cloud QuickPass and other platforms to upgrade and build a Chongqing night-time consumption promotion platform that integrates online and offline. Besides, the “Night Chongqing Electronic Map” intelligent map navigation is released, and through online and offline integration guidance, create a summer consumption illustration that integrates food, travel, shopping, and entertainment. Some districts and counties also rely on the Internet platform to organize a variety of online activities in accordance with local conditions, adding luster to the city’s nighttime economic innovation and development.
What’s more, the China (Chongqing) Night Economic Development Summit was also held for the first time, more than 150-night special events were carried out, attracting over 12 million people to participate, achieved remarkable results. To better develop the night economy, the “Chongqing Night Economic Development Alliance” has been established. The alliance has 121 members, including brand merchants, night market merchants, industry platform companies, resource companies from all districts, and counties, and they have played a demonstrative and leading role in participating in this event.
