The Offline 2020 CICTIE Concluded with 100,000 Visits

Chongqing-On Oct 18, the 4-day offline Chongqing International Culture & Tourism Industry Expo (CICTIE) concluded. There were 10 theme pavilions and more than thousands of participant enterprises with over tens of thousands of products, which had attracted 100,000 visits.

A window for the world to see the development of culture and tourism in Chongqing

Magical interactive activities, acrobatic performances, music concerts, the exhibition of intangible culture articles, the Han Chinese clothing model contest, and so forth attracted lots of attention and motivated visitors’ consumption desires.

The pavilion of”2020 Chongqing Showcase” exhibiting 35 districts and counties' achievements is also the expo's highlight.

Fengjie Pavilion set up four exhibition areas: special culture and tourism, creative culture products, tourism sales, and Kuizhou delicacies. 14 enterprises from Fengjie displayed the achievements of the “2020 Chongqing Showcase” such as Fengjie Navel Oranges, “Guzi Chicken,” the intangible culture heritage article “gloomy wood carvings,” silk paintings, Kuizhou embroidery, and Kuizhou combs. The exhibition successfully captured the attention of travel agents and visitors.

5 tourist attractions and 6 enterprises from Fuling exhibited their products at the Fuling Pavilion. More than thousands of discounted tourist attractions such as Wuling Mountain Rift Valley,816 projects were launched. Interactive activities like culture & tourism promotion, the lucky draw, weaving, and so forth were held. Enterprises like Meixi Red Wine Town, Lameizi Group, brought over 50 culture & tourism commodities. The sales each day reached 10s of thousands of yuan.

Moreover, achievements of the “2020 Chongqing Showcase” in Fengdu, Changshou, Qianjiang, Kaizhou, Ba’nan, Dianjiang, Dadukou, Tongliang, Jiangjin, Beibei, Dazu, and so on were also put on display.

Another highlight of the expo was that the exchange and cooperation of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in culture and tourism had been strengthened. It set up the Sichuan-Chongqing region's city demonstration pavilion and exhibited innovative development achievements of cities' culture and tourism industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

“Bebe District cooperates with Mianyang in Sichuan Province to promote the achievements of two places in the culture and tourism industry at the Expo. ” One person from Beibei culture and tourism commission said.

Dazu District in Chongqing had reached a strategic agreement with Ziyang in Sichuan to co-build the demonstration area for the integration development of culture and tourism. At the expo, the Dazu pavilion also displayed culture and tourism products from Ziyang. A series of cultural products from Ziyang, like lemon facial masks, essential oils, and humidifiers, were favored by Chongqing Citizens.

Meanwhile, the Cultural Tourism Summit forum of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and the 3 rd T12 West China Development Summit of Culture and Tourism was held. At the summit, experts, scholars, representatives from culture and tourism enterprises, and industry gathered there. They shared their suggestions on developing high-quality development of the culture and tourism industry in the Chengdu-Chongqing Region.

A bridge to boost the exchange and cooperation of countries along the Belt and Road region

One Chongqing citizen said she never thought she could see the Czech Republic's crystal products at the expo at the BRI pavilion. Contents like traditional handicrafts, creative designs, intangible cultural heritage, culture and tourism, culture and education, films, and performances from countries along the Belt and Road region had been put on display. These participant enterprises were from countries like Japan, Australia, Hungary, the Republic of Lithuania, Pakistan, Uruguay, Israel, the Czech Republic, etc.

The crystal from the Czech Republic enjoys the reputation of “Transparent Gold.” Crystal art wares from the Czech Republic are among the most well-known traditional products of the Czech Republic. At the pavilion, crystal products like crystal goblets, crystal coffee cups, crystal vases were favored by visitors.

The Pakistan Pavilion sold local special products like delicate furniture made of rosewood and high-quality cashmere shawls. “We hope Chongqing citizens will love our culture and products, and our products can enter Chongqing people’s daily life through the platform of CICTIE.” One merchant from Pakistan said.
