Chongqing - As one of Chongqing’s oldest and most prosperous commercial and business centers, Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street is one of the must-see places during your trip to Chongqing. It is closely connected to many of Chongqing’s popular scenic spots, such as Hongya Cave, Chaotianmen Dock, etc. Here, you can enjoy the view from the top of some of the tallest skyscrapers in China. Besides, here is the perfect place to go shopping and enjoy a great variety of delicious food.

People’s Liberation Monument

Located at the heart of Chongqing in Yuzhong District and the center of the Jiefangbei CBD, the People’s Liberation Monument was built in 1946 to commemorate the Chinese People’s Victory in the Sino-Japanese War.

The tower is built on what was once the Spiritual Fortress at the same location; unfortunately, it was destroyed during the bombing of the city, and the monument in its place was completed in 1946 after the end of the war. For a long time, this was the tallest building in Chongqing, and it remains an important memorial in the city and a reminder of the history that took place here.

Snack Street

When you visit Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, you get to check out the delicious snack street, which is just a few minutes’ walks away from the Monument. The snack street is always busy, full of authentic local snacks and drinks that you can choose freely, and of course, at a very fair price.

Shopping Malls

Jiefangbei CBD is home to a number of popular, large-scale shopping malls, including PARK108, Chongqing Times Square, CBEST, WFC, Raffles City, which offer a wide variety of brands and products, from high-end Prada, LV, D&G to mass-market brands and Chongqing local specialties. Plenty of trendy brands popular among young people have attracted a large clientele base here, expecting further growth. WFC Observation Deck

The observation deck on the World Financial Center is one of the tallest places in Chongqing. On the 73 floors of the building, visitors can have a 360-degree overview of Downtown. It is the tallest one among skyscrapers around.
