The 2020 Chongqing Marathon is finally here! On November 13, the press conference of the 2020 Chang’an Automobile Chongqing Marathon (referred to as "Chong Ma") was held. The race will start at 8:00 am on November 15 (Sunday) at Chongqing Nanbin Road.

From 2011 to 2019, the Chongqing International Marathon has been successfully held for 9 times and becoming a member of the China Gold Medal, the International Gold Label event, and the Four Grand Slams of the China Marathon. From 2017 to 2019, it won the TOP10 most influential brand value event of the "China Marathon List" hosted by People's Daily Online for three consecutive years.

Li Wei, General Manager of Chongqing International Marathon Sports, said in our interview that since the start of registration in October of last year, more than 110,000 people have signed up for this year's Chong Ma. More than 20,000 people won the draw, and due to the epidemic, the cancellation will be 6000. For the rest of the participants, there were still 14,000 runners who had not quit or refunded their fees by the end of last month.

Since the start of registration for the 2020 Chongqing International Marathon Online on October 15, more than 160,000 runners at home and abroad have registered for the online race this year. "According to the relevant requirements of the municipal and district governments for epidemic prevention and control, and the unfinished situation of the Chongqing Nanbin Park due to the flood disaster relief project, the scale of this year’s event has been reduced from 30,000 to 4,900, including 4,000 in the full marathon and 900 in the mini-marathon”, Mr. Li said, this year's Chong Ma only allowed Chongqing's residents to participate, that is, the athletes must live in Chongqing for more than six months.

This marathon is under the guidance of the Chongqing Sports Bureau and is co-sponsored by the Nan'an District People's Government and Banan District People's Government. The event schedule as follows:

Medical Supports
2020 Chong Ma’s medical security will continue to be under the guidance of the Municipal Health Commission. The Nan'an District and Banan District Health Commissions coordinate nearly 20 medical institutions to fully guarantee the safety of the event. There are 6 comprehensive medical centers, 52 medical stations, 60 mobile AEDs, 40 emergency runners, and an on-site medical command center along the Chong Ma race track. Information and visualization are used to understand various emergency medical situations on the track in real-time to ensure the safety of the event.
