Chongqing- The 2020 Chongqing Digital Publication Annual Conference was held at the Yangtze River Hall of the Grand Metro Park Hotel Chongqing on Nov. 13, with the main theme of “Quality Development of Digital Publication, Sustainable Empowerment for Digital Economy.”

The conference invited industry leaders from the country’s eight provinces and municipalities, representatives of the city’s digital publication enterprises, and more than 200 local and national experts and scholars to discuss issues around building the digital publication industry into a new growth engine for the city’s digital economy and building the Liangjiang New Area into a highland of smart city construction.

According to the 2019 – 2020 Chongqing Digital Publication Industry Development Report released at the beginning of the conference, the annual revenue of the Liangjiang New Area National Digital Publication Base reached 8.16 billion yuan as of the end of 2019, accounting for 36.22% of the city’s total digital publication industry output. The overall output in the national digital publication base increased by 16.97%, 7.02% higher than the citywide average, and 10.67% higher than the city’s gross economic growth.

Currently, the national digital publication base has contracted 407 enterprises with its well-developed industry ecosystem and supporting facilities, accounting for 20.2% of the city’s total. The inclusion of such enterprises as the Tencent Lightspeed & Quantum (Chongqing) Art Studio R&D Base, Perfect World Co., Ltd., Chongqing Hengxiang TV Co., Ltd., and CQNEWS Group Co., Ltd. Provides a strong momentum for the overall development and upgrading of the digital publishing industry in the Liangjiang New Area.

Award presenting ceremonies were also held for the 2019 Excellent Digital Publication Figures Awards, 2019 Excellent Digital Publication Products & Services Awards, 2019 Excellent Digital Publication Projects Awards, and the 2019 Digital Publication Product Special Awards/Chongqing Digital Publication Special Dedication Awards.

What’s more, the Southwest China Normal University Press and the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, the Chongqing University Press and the Chongqing VIP Information Co., Ltd., the Chongqing Audio-Video & Digital Publication Association and the Chengdu Technology Business Incubators Association also signed strategic partnership agreements with each other on-site at the conference.

To better display the excellent digital publication projects, services, and products, and to better promote the city’s digital publication enterprises, this year’s conference was held via both online and offline formats.

Next, the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area National Digital Publication Base will further promote the integrated development of the traditional publication industry and digital publication industry by building on its own strengths in digital content creation and digital technologies and build itself into the city’s new name card for digital content industries.
