2020 China Hi-Tech Fair: Cutting-Edge Technologies to Create a Smart Life

By VIVIAN YAN|Nov 17,2020

Shenzhen- More than 450 companies and units participated at the 22nd China Hi-Tech Fair, with a distribution of 9 exhibition halls based on different themes.

The 22nd China Hi-Tech Fair was held at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen between November 11 and 15.

Hall No.1, which serves as the "Information Technology and Product Exhibition" hall, is also the largest and most popular one. Hall No.1 has attracted a large number of companies to showcase their latest cutting-edge technologies and technological achievements, including an application of smart city scenarios from Intellifusion and Huawei, a face detection and recognition system from Arcsoft, an unmanned driving system from Deeproute.ai, as well as a smart trash clarification system from Chamtent Technology. They aim to create a safe, comfortable, and intelligent life.

Smart City Scenarios Come into Reality

Imagine that, walking into a shopping mall, touching the Artificial Intelligence (AI) screen, scanning the QR code, one will be able to quickly find a restroom, car park or elevator. This smart system is also going to inform you about the real-time traffic data, so you can easily avoid queuing and crowding... Intellifusion develops a vision processor for purposes such as public safety, supercomputing, and AI. It created an offline scene for future urban commerce, under the concept of building a "self-evolving urban intelligent body", which was proposed at the first time.

The concept of building a "self-evolving urban intelligent body" not only provides a more efficient governance and service to the city itself but also relies on the closed-loop capabilities of the algorithm-chip-big data full chain, endowing the city with self-learning and self-evolution effectiveness to enter into the era of AI.

Furthermore, Huawei also set up a “smart city” booth to showcase solutions in all scenarios that are led by new concepts and based on new digital infrastructure. It follows the theme of new governance, life, and economy.

Huawei set up a “smart city” booth to showcase solutions in all scenarios that are led by new concepts and based on new digital infrastructure.

Specifically, at the smart government booth, Huawei helped urban decision-makers to achieve “second-to-second approval and exemption” in response to possible difficulties and problems in government service reforms; At the smart water conservancy booth, Huawei demonstrated 5G monitoring of water conservancy through using the solution of pole stations; At the smart emergency booth, Huawei and its partners jointly presented the combination of information technology and emergency services, building an efficient emergency command solution that can be well stimulated and analysed for any decision-making circumstance.

Face Recognition and Unmanned Diving Cars

In addition to companies like Intellifusion and Huawei, many technological innovation companies and scientific research institutions made their debut at the Fair as well. As one of the first 25 companies listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, Arcsoft launched a platform that has a high accuracy and precision of face detection and recognition. It can be used in multiple scenarios involving smart campus, medical care and financial services without barriers.

Meanwhile, unmanned driving is also applied into the application of different industries. With Deeproute.ai’s self-driving technology solutions, mobility companies can accelerate the development of self-driving vehicles. The company’s system covers every part of self-driving technology, including sensing, HD Map, perception, planning and control, simulation system and cloud platform.

Currently, Deeproute.ai is cooperating with Cao Cao Mobility to operate autonomous driving online car-hailing services in Hangzhou. It is expected that the size of the robo-taxis fleet will be expanded to a couple of hundreds during the 2022 Asian Games.

Smart Trash Cans to Make Life Easier

Furthermore, a smart trash clarification system from Chamtent Technology, with a focus on smart household products, has developed a series of environment-friendly products, including smart trash cans and the HyperLink Automatic Waste Recycled System.

Especially, the smart trash cans can solve the problem of unclear garbage classification through voice recognition. For instance, when an individual is not sure about how to put the right kind of garbage into the right waste bin, he or she is encouraged to ask the smart trash cans directly.

This not only can be applied in modern residential communities to make life easier but solves the environmental pollution problems caused by unsorted garbage and littering.
