The Standing Committee of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee convened the conference to deliberate the opinions on making Liangjiang New Area stronger to achieve the high-quality development on November 18.

Since the 19th CPC National Congress, significant progress has been made in the development and opening-up of Liangjiang New Area, making positive contributions to the overall development of Chongqing. Several requirements were also proposed at the meeting.

Standing a higher political and strategic position and planning Chongqing's development in big-picture terms to serve the overall situation, Liangjiang New Area should strive to become a leader for high-quality development and a model for high-quality life, and make new achievements in integrating into the new development pattern under the development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Liangjiang New Area should set a good example in creating drivers for innovation, with efforts including accelerating the gathering of high-end innovation factors, advancing the achievements in key and core technologies, expanding application scenarios of intelligent technologies and creating a better ecosystem for innovation and business start-ups. It should work hard to make a deeper reform and a higher-level opening-up, and improve management systems with innovative measures, so as to create a market-oriented and law-based world-class business environment.

It should take the lead in promoting the high-quality development of real economy by striving to develop advancing manufacturing and modern service, optimising and upgrading industry chain and supply chain, and improving the economic quality and benefits, and core competitiveness.

It should make practical efforts to promote the coordinated development among regions, and give full play to the leading role in developing the main city centre of Chongqing, the driving role in developing Wanzhou-centred town cluster and Qianjiang-centred town cluster, as well as the linkage role in promoting the development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Finally, it should contribute to improving urban governance, pay attention to supporting facilities of functional areas, and promote industry-city-landscape integration, so as to improve people's quality of life and build a model for an international, green, and intelligent humanistic city. All departments at all levels of Chongqing should increase their support to create favourable conditions for the development of Liangjiang New Area and its high-quality development and promote the implementation of various policies.
