SW China's Chongqing to Create Modern Construction Smart Industrial Park

By VIVIAN YAN|Nov 19,2020

The Chongqing Modern Construction Smart Industrial Park and the launch activity of Western (Chongqing) Intelligent Construction Industry Alliance kicked off an investment promotion meeting in Yubei District on November 10.

The Chongqing Modern Construction Smart Industrial Park aims to attract investment from global architectural enterprises and institutions involving planning and design, research and development (R&D) and innovation, as well as intelligent construction and equipment manufacturing. After put into operation, the Park will generate an output value worth 100 billion yuan (about USD 15.23 billion).

It is becoming inevitable for the transformation and upgrading in the construction industry. In response to the green development, Yubei has put forward the goal of building a 100 billion-level modern construction industry cluster for developing prefabricated construction, showing its determination to promote the modernization and green development of Chongqing's construction industry.

To that end, Yubei makes efforts to promote the building of 3.5-square-kilometer Chongqing Modern Construction Smart Industrial Park by taking Wuchong–Tongde Area as the demonstration area and providing all-round services including investment promotion, market, production, marketing, and finance.

Furthermore, it has attracted Tsinghua Unigroup, which has poured 500 million yuan into establishing Tsinghua Construction Cloud Technology Co., Ltd., to build a national digital construction cloud platform.

With a 10 square kilometers planning area, Chongqing Modern Construction Smart Industrial Park enjoys a broad prospect for development. This is due to the multiple advantages of Yubei, acting as the carrier for China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone and China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity, as well as that for the first national airport economic demonstration zone and Gaozhu New Area for Sichuan–Chongqing Cooperation.

The Park will also import two manufacturing projects, including intelligent manufacturing of prefabricated parts and components and intelligent construction and equipment manufacturing, to build it into a national comprehensive modern construction smart industrial park integrating innovation and R&D, production and manufacturing, and smart management.

The Park will also attract investment from global architectural enterprises and institutions, with emphasis on such sectors driven by big data, intelligent technologies, Internet and Internet of Things as software system development, cloud computing, and big data service, technology R&D, standards establishment, production of IoT equipment, production of smart home products, intelligent construction, and equipment manufacturing, intelligent planning and design, intelligent consulting, production of intelligent parts and components, intelligent construction and installation, intelligent education and training, smart logistics transportation, EPC or REMPC general contracting, and Internet platform service.
