Chongqing — On November 19, the Chongqing Municipal Government Information Office held the 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference's second press conference. It is reported that the 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference will open as scheduled on November 21.

"So far, the number of important guests confirmed to attend the conference has exceeded one hundred." At the press conference, He Zhenguo, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, introduced more than 100 important guests, such as domestic and foreign academicians, Nobel Prize winners, presidents of well-known universities, and prominent entrepreneurs, will attend the conference through online and offline methods.

Representatives of the award winners of the Chongqing Outstanding Talents Award and the talent representatives selected by the Chongqing Talents Program will also participate in the relevant activities of the conference, with more than 40,000 registered online participants.

The supply and demand of the talent project of the 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference are booming. According to He Zhenguo, a total of 8,041 job requirements of employers, 288 project demands up to now. What’s more, a total of 12,199 domestic and overseas talents and 607 projects have registered to participate in the conference.

"During the conference, public institutions will be launched for high-level talents such as doctors, masters, senior titles talents." He Zhenguo introduced that municipal public institutions have received 1,259 applications, including 1,063 doctors, accounting for 84.4 %. District and county institutions received 4,662 applications.

Furthermore, the Chongqing “Talents Cup” Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creativity Project Contest, an important event of the 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference, has also completed the semi-finals in Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Beijing. There are 330 projects registered for the competition, and 25 projects have passed. Fierce competition to advance to the conference finals.

"We have also received more than 600 applications for roadshow projects at home and abroad. After professional review and selection, 24 projects finally entered the on-site roadshow negotiation." He Zhenguo revealed that the roadshow projects involve electronic information, smart manufacturing, biomedicine, and new energy. In many emerging fields, district and county governments, investment and financing institutions, industrial parks, and enterprises will simultaneously carry out docking negotiations. A number of high-quality projects are expected to settle in Chongqing.
