Chongqing- The 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference concluded in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on November 22, with 1,821 introduced outstanding talents and 267 contracted projects.

 Specifically, 180 talents and 20 introduced project representatives signed contracts on the spot, and more than 1,000 introduced talents and projects signed cooperation agreements through the cloud. This further proves Chongqing's intention of respecting,  cherishing, and valuing different talents.

During the conference, more than 40,000 people attended the conference online. Over 56 million people watched the exhibition through the cloud, and 77 million people watched the conference through a live stream.

In addition, the Chongqing Outstanding Talent Award Medal and the Chongqing Talent Program Selection Certificate were awarded to different talents. The conference also launched the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Talent Coordination Development Achievement Exhibition, showing strategic opportunities, favorable policies, high-quality platforms, and a good environment and conditions for growing talents in the two places.

At the closing ceremony, representatives of talent introduction and project introduction made speeches successively. Gao Liao, a representative of talent introduction and a young teacher of Chongqing University said that Chongqing University actively promotes the construction of "double first-class," paying attention to the development of liberal arts and gathering a large number of aspiring scholars.

“I believe that under the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, this will provide young teachers with more opportunities,” said Gao.

“With the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the Western (Chongqing) Science City,” said Liao Ying, a representative of project introduction. “Chongqing has become a fertile ground for entrepreneurship, especially in the Internet and smart industries, as well as high-tech and venture capital markets.”

The 2020 Chongqing Talents Conference has played a significant role in attracting talents. According to released statistics, this year’s conference has introduced 1,821 talents in short supply, including 956 outstanding talents recruited by the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and 865 talents recruited by public institutions.

Furthermore, the introduction of talents and contracted projects also set new records this year. Particularly, the relevant districts and counties have organized over 30 special recruitment activities in big data, artificial intelligence, bio-medicine, integrated circuits, etc., introduced a total of 958 talents and 92 projects.
